We had just over 300 vintage BMWs in attendance and the weather behaved perfectly, despite a monsoon-like downpour the evening before.

Thank you to all our sponsors for their gracious support. We couldn’t do it in style without you. And a huge thank you to all those who attended and brought vintage BMWs to the show. We don’t know how we’ll top 2010, but plans for 2011 are already underway!

Are you prepared? Well, for starters you should at least have your hotel reservation info, a camera, some sun block, a folding chair or two, cash money, maps/GPS, …and a vintage BMW wouldn’t hurt either.

If you are registered to show your vintage BMW, don’t forget your registration packet that was sent out a couple weeks ago. There’s some handy stuff in that envelope including a coupon for $5 off an event t-shirt, a dash card to fill out and display at the show and a ballot to vote for your favorite vintage BMW!

Everyone please travel safely to the vineyards and we’ll see you all Friday afternoon!

I have assembled teams for the International Judging Committee. There will be contingents from Canada, Puerto Rico, and Netherlands who will pick their favorite cars at the event and present a unique trophy.

Also new for this year are Ambassador Tents which will be located in their respective display areas and will help educate you about those certain models. So as you are wandering around on Saturday, stop by these tents, you just might learn something. Each tent will also have some sort of neat give-away item.

Last year we had nearly 300 vintage BMWs in attendance from all over the country. Check the September 2009 issue of the BMW CCA magazine Roundel for a great write up of the event!

We’re going to mix things up a little for 2010, first change will be the music. After 6 years of oompah music, we will be featuring a really great rock-a-billy band from Durham NC called Straight 8’s who will play at the winery on Saturday. Next, we will be eliminating the Saturday morning drive because people have mentioned that the event is getting so big now that they don’t have enough time on Saturday to see all the cars and talk to all the people and taste all the wine. Don’t worry though, we will have drives on Friday and Sunday.

After working on the event poster and coming up with what looks like a vintage racing movie poster, I decided that this will be the theme this year. We will be featuring BMW race cars and will also be highlighting factory ///M cars, and will have plenty or race themed schtuff throughout the weekend.
