Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I know if my BMW is “vintage” or not.

A. Here’s the designation of “vintage” for this event broken down by model as to what will be allowed into the display areas:

All pre-war BMWs, 502, 507, Isetta (300 and 600), 700, 2000, 1800, 1600, 2002, 2500, CS, Bavaria, 320, 323, e23 (1st gen. 7-series), e12 and e28 (1st & 2nd gen 5-series), e24 (6-series), all e30’s, M1’s, and Z1 roadsters. All BMW motorcycles up to 1985.

Q : Can we bring our kids?

A : This is a family oriented event, and kids are welcome. However, this is not Chuck E. Cheese and all children should be kept under control. There will be things to keep the youngsters busy such as a coloring contest and the winery even has fish food to feed the fish in the pond. Sorry, no fishing allowed in the pond though.

Q : Can we bring our dog?

A : Yes, you can bring dogs but they MUST be on a leash and your MUST clean up after them.

Q : If we don’t want to do the Saturday morning drive, can we come straight to the winery?

A : Yes you may. The gates at the winery will open at 10:00. DO NOT GET THERE EARLY UNLESS YOU ARE A VOLUNTEER, VENDOR, OR SETTING UP FOR SWAP MEET..

Q : How can I set up as a vendor?

A : You must contact us first for approval because available space at the event site is limited.

Q : I have a trailered vehicle, where do I park?

A : This new site has plenty of parking on site for trailers. Park in the grassy area just as you come in the secondary entrance on your left (see venue map page). The winery has given permission to store your trailer there Friday if you want to unload and drive your car around. Best scenario is to unload in the trailer area and drive your car into the appropriate display area.

Q : Do I have to be a member of BMW CCA?

A : No.

Q : Can I come even if I don’t have a vintage BMW?

A : Yes. There is a large parking lot for spectators. Specators are FREE.

Q : Is there beer for sale?

A : No the only alcohol for sale at the winery is wine which is available by the glass and by the bottle. OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED. These are the wishes of Shelton Vineyards and we should respect them. Anyone caught with a beer will be asked to leave .

Q : What kind of food is available?

A : The winery has a restaurant that will supply an outdoor tent with brats and burgers for sale. This food set up should work much better than last year. However if you want to bring a picnic lunch please do so.

Q : Can we bring our own food?

A : No problem.

Q : Will you have event t-shirts available again this year?

A : We will have event t-shirts, posters, hats, and maybe some other fun schtuff for sale at the registration tent.

Q : Hey Scott, will you be wearing your lederhosen again?

A : Nope, gonna give ‘em a rest this year. Look for me in my orange BMW pit crew shirt.
